2019 Lincoln Continental to get upgraded tech, light price bump Adaptive cruise and Co-Pilot360 now standard equipment

Putting aside the persistent rumours that have the model being dropped as soon as 2020, the Lincoln Continental will be back in 2019, with a slight bump in pricing to go with upgraded technologies.

According to CarsDirect website, Lincoln’s flagship sedan will be getting adaptive cruise control, Lincoln’s Co-Pilot360 system, several drive assist features including auto emergency braking, lane keep assist and a blind spot monitor. Some of these were previously only available when adding the Technology package.

The Select version of the 2019 Continental is priced higher than last year (prices given were for the U.S. model, so not applicable in Canada. The Reserve trim, meanwhile, also gets a price boost, but now comes equipped with the Technology and Climate packages. This means it will come already loaded with a 360-degree camera, head-up display and park assist, as well as heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel and windshield wiper de-icer - all standard.

The top-end Black Label version of the Continental now includes the Technology package as standard equipment, along with the 30-way power adjustable function for the seats.

As CarsDirect reports, sales have been very sluggish for the large luxury sedan – hence the model’s uncertain future. Through July 2018, sales are down in the U.S. by 30% compared to last year.

We’ll be keeping you posted as soon as information becomes available about Canadian details and pricing.
