2021 Genesis G80: 10 Things Worth Knowing As the luxury brand welcomes SUVs to its lineup, it’s making sure not to neglect its sedans

# 3 - Tech fit for a home theatre

Well, maybe not quite, but what’s on display here is unlike anything we’ve ever seen before in cars, and it all starts with the massive 14-inch central infotainment display. It is touch-operated but since it’s so wide, it can be a little tough to reach from the driver’s seat. Which is fine, because there’s also a centralized controller that reminds me a little of the original iPod. It takes a little getting used to but once you do, it makes sense and is very smooth in its operation. Also, since there’s a touchpad involved as well, you can “spell” out messages and GPS destinations with your index finger.

# 4 - Driver assistance extraordinaire

Of course, all the requisite driver aids are here – adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, lane-centering and so on. But it’s the G80’s blind spot camera tool that really stands out. As soon as you activate your turn indicator, a display on whichever side of the digital gauge cluster is on the side you’re indicating becomes a blind spot camera. It makes so much sense and is of great use both in the city and on the highway. If you have the semi-digital display found on lower-end models, then the right-hand side gauge becomes the camera for either side of the car.
