Audi discretely made public the pricing in Canada for its 2027 Q9 and SQ9, via the online configurator that went live on its website last week. The German automaker’s Canadian division is now taking orders for its largest and most luxurious vehicle to date. The lowest price of entry? $123,300 CAD.
Positioned above the midsize Q7, the full-size three-row flagship enters the segment to compete directly against rivals such as the BMW X7, Mercedes-Benz GLS, Cadillac Escalade and Lincoln Navigator.
2027 Audi Q9 – Canadian pricing
The 2027 Audi Q9 carries a base Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $123,300; stepping up to the Technik trim brings the price tag to $133,600.
For buyers seeking enhanced performance, the sportier SQ9 starts at an MSRP of $152,850. There are of course the additional fees, namely the mandatory $3,060 destination charge, as well as administrative levies and Canada’s federal luxury tax. Those bring the starting prices to around $132,350 for the Q9 and $167,800 for the SQ9.
Powertrains of the 2027 Audi Q9 and SQ9
For those considerable sums, the standard Q9 delivers 429 hp and 442 lb-ft of torque via a twin-turbocharged 2.9L V6 engine. Coupled with an 8-speed Tiptronic transmission and standard quattro all-wheel drive, the base full-size SUV sprints from zero to 100 km/h in 5.2 seconds.
The SQ9 ups the ante with a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 good for 591 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque, which chops the 0-100 km/h time down to 4.0 seconds.
Both models have a maximum towing capacity of 7,700 lb.
This is a massive SUV for Audi, the largest it’s ever built. Total length is 5,310 mm, width is 2,210 mm and height is 1,180. Predictably, then, Audi vaunts the model’s generous cabin space. A 7-seat layout comes standard, though a $800 six-seat configuration replaces the second-row bench with individual power-adjustable seats.
Other than sheer size, the Q9 showcases other firsts for the brand. It features Audi’s largest panoramic sunroof to date at 1.5 square metres, as well available powered automatic soft-close doors controllable via the myAudi app and optional front sport seats equipped with ventilation and massage functions.
Canadian buyers can now configure models online, with initial deliveries expected to follow the digital launch.
