Chevrolet is making several changes to the High Country trim of the Traverse for 2027. The most upscale version of this three-row midsize SUV benefits from a revised exterior design and a cabin featuring warmer materials.
This update follows the same trajectory as the new-generation 2027 Chevrolet Silverado High Country, unveiled last June. According to General Motors, Traverse sales increased by 20 percent in the second quarter of 2026 in the US market. The model also reportedly recorded the best first half-year in its history, so it deserved some love.
Design of the 2027 Chevrolet Traverse High Country
On the outside, the 2027 Traverse High Country gets a new Tritan satin finish applied to the grille and headlight trim. Chevrolet has also revised the badging for this version and fitted it with 22-inch aluminium wheels. These combine machined surfaces with gloss black accents.
Inside
There are changes in the cabin as well. The black seats welcome Natural Tan accents, a shade also featured on the edges of the seatbelts. The headrests display an embossed pattern, and real wood trim has sprouted here and there.
Explained Emma Mikalauskas, lead creative designer for Chevrolet global crossovers and performance vehicles, “The High Country trim has traditionally offered a high-end ambience characterized by brown shades and bright chrome.” She noted that the brand now wants to incorporate more modern touches and warmer colours.
Powertrain of the 2027 Chevrolet Traverse High Country
Under the hood, Chevrolet retains the 2.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. It produces 328 hp and 326 lb-ft of torque. When properly equipped, the Traverse can tow up to 5,000 lb.
Equipment once again includes a 17.7-inch central touchscreen. An interior camera is now standard with the euphemistically named Cabin Glance feature, which allows drivers to monitor second- and third-row occupants via the central display.
The system can also record images captured by interior and exterior cameras when an anti-theft alarm is triggered. However, a USB flash drive must be plugged in to save and view the recordings.
