Genesis has revealed the production version of its first full-size SUV, the all-electric GV90. Set to arrive in North American showrooms in 2027, the flagship three-row utility vehicle is derived directly from the Neolun Concept unveiled in 2024, serving as the ultimate showcase for the South Korean brand's luxury, technology, and “Son-nim” hospitality philosophy.
Measuring 5,285 mm in length and 2,030 mm in width on a massive 3,245 mm wheelbase, the GV90 stands out with its clean profile, double-line LED lighting with a central V-motif and wheel options reaching up to 24 inches.
Powertrain of the 2027 Genesis GV90
Genesis also didn’t mess around with hybrid alternatives. Its new flagship comes into existence solely as a battery-electric vehicle.
The GV90 debuts the luxury brand's new eMP platform, housing a massive 123.5 kWh battery pack, the largest ever fitted to an EV produced by the Hyundai Group. Dual electric motors generate a combined output of 490 kW (657 hp) and 590 lb-ft of torque (240 kW front, 250 kW rear). Internal testing projects a driving range of around 500 km for the seven-passenger layout, with 800V fast-charging capability taking the battery from 10 to 80 percent in 22 minutes via a 350 kW DC charger.
Dynamic composure and urban agility are managed by a multi-chamber air suspension, real-time dual-valve monotube dampers, four-piston front brake calipers and five-degree rear-wheel steering.
2027 Genesis GV90 – Versions for Canada
Genesis will offer the vehicle in two primary variants: the core GV90, featuring conventional doors and a traditional B-pillar, and the flagship GV90 Neolun (alongside an exclusive First Edition model). The Neolun edition features coach-style rear suicide doors and completely eliminates the visual B-pillar. Structural safety is maintained using ultra-high-strength steel door beams, structural foam, and an integrated hidden safety cage that is 1.5 times thicker than standard vehicle structures.
Safety hardware includes twelve airbags, including a full-coverage rollover curtain airbag in the roof, as well as an interior occupant monitoring system that evaluates passenger posture and seatbelt usage.
Interior of the 2027 Genesis GV90
Inside, the flat-floor cabin emphasizes first-class lounge comfort. The dashboard features a slimmed architecture hosting a 23.6-inch OLED display running the Pleos Connect infotainment platform, which elevates by 90 mm to a 24.6-inch screen when parked, integrated with “Gleo AI” generative assistant controls. A 25-inch head-up display replaces traditional gauge clusters.
On the Neolun trim, front seats power-swivel 180 degrees to face rear passengers while stationary. An available ultra-luxurious four-seat Executive Suite configuration adds genuine wood flooring, integrated tables, a beverage refrigerator, and a solid cargo partition.
