Kia is expanding its electric vehicle lineup in Canada with the introduction of the 2027 EV4 GT. The high-performance variant takes up position at the top of the compact sedan model’s lineup.
Unveiled earlier at the Brussels Auto Show, the GT model brings enhanced power and aggressive styling cues to the nascent EV4 family, with the price of entry set at $58,595 CAD.
Powertrain of the 2027 Kia EV4 GT
Built on Kia’s 400-volt Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) architecture, the EV4 GT upgrades from standard dual-motor variants of the EV to deliver a combined output of 288 hp and 345 lb-ft of torque. That extra punch enables the sedan to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds, shaving roughly a second off the standard all-wheel-drive (AWD) version.
Power comes, like it does with the regular EV4, from an 81.4-kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The performance tuning and larger rolling stock does cut into the manufacturer-estimated range, which drops to 431 km on a full charge, compared to 463 km for the AWD GT-Line.
Supported by a native North American Charging Standard (NACS) port, the battery pack can replenish from 10 to 80 percent in around 31 minutes using a DC fast charger under ideal conditions.
Design of the 2027 Kia EV4 GT
The EV4 GT features signature GT styling elements, including neon green-accented brake calipers tucked behind model-specific 20-inch alloy wheels. Exterior paint options for Canadian buyers are Snow White Pearl, Shale Grey, Aurora Black, Magma Red and Yacht Blue.
Inside, the cabin features synthetic leather and suede upholstery alongside a GT-themed digital instrument cluster. Drivers also gain a dedicated, steering-wheel-mounted GT button that instantly activates maximum performance settings, as well as a head-up display, exclusive to the GT trim within the EV4 family.

Kia Canada has set the EV4 GT’s MSRP at $58,595, which translates to an all-in price of $61,344 before applicable taxes. By comparison, standard EV4 models range from $41,898 to $57,398.
The premium price tag places the EV4 GT in direct competition with the Tesla Model 3 AWD, most notably. That said, the EV4 GT does become one of the few compact electric performance sedans currently offered in the segment.
