Audi has released some important numbers pertaining to its race across the continental U.S. undertaken with a fleet of its diesel-powered vehicles. The
Audi Mileage Marathon is an exercise in endurance where the goal is to maintain the lowest diesel consumption throughout the event.

The fuel-efficiency champion of the first two stages is the small A3 Sportback 2.0 TDI, which maintained an impressive 5.11 L/100 km average throughout the first two waves. The average speed hovered around 100 km/h. The other vehicles also turned in some exemplary fuel consumption numbers. The large Q7 3.0 TDI maintained an average of 7.8 litres per 100 kilometres. As for the
Q5 , it travelled the same distance on 7.13 litres of diesel, while the A4 sedans averaged 6.03 litres. For now, the race has covered a total of 4,508 kilometres. The next step will see the Audis trek from Denver, Colorado to Las Vegas, Nevada.
