Mercedes-Benz recalls 73,000 cars from 2007-2013 in Canada Dodge Sprinter, Chrysler Crossfire also recalled for the same issue

The growing list of vehicles recalled due to potentially deadly airbag inflators made by Takata now adds roughly 73,000 Mercedes-Benz vehicles in Canada, covering the 2007-2013 model years.

The models that are targeted by this recall include:

  • SLS AMG (2011-2012)
  • C- Class (2005-2011)
  • E-Class (2010-2011)
  • GL-Class (2009-2012)
  • GLK-Class (2009-2012)
  • M-Class (2009-2011)
  • R-Class (2009-2013)
  • SLK-Class (2007-2008)

Additionally, 5,250 Dodge Sprinter vans (2007-2009) and 250 Chrysler Crossfire coupes (2007-2008) are affected by the same problem and will be recalled.
In all of these cases, dealers will replace the front driver airbag module at no cost to owners.
