Volkswagen reportedly manipulated emissions tests in Korea Noise-level tests are also said to have been rigged

Volkswagen allegedly manipulated the results of emissions and noise-level tests in South Korea in order to facilitate their import, according to that country’s regulators.

Automotive News Europe says that 26 models are affected.

Per an anonymous Seoul prosecutors' office official with knowledge of the matter, Volkswagen fabricated 37 reports to South Korea's National Institute of Environmental Research, not only for popular cars such as the Volkswagen Golf, but also for high-performance models like the Audi RS7.

Authorities plan to start summoning company officials next week to question them. A Volkswagen Korea spokeswoman declined to comment.
