AAA demonstrates the consequences of texting while driving

By ,

Whether European, Australian, American or Canadian, government authorities are trying by any means possible to prevent, or at least educate people about the danger of texting behind the wheel.

If you’re not convinced by AT&T’s documentary on the subject, maybe this video by the reputable American Automobile Association will make you think twice the next time you reach for your mobile.

The organization tested drivers in a Nissan Altima on a closed course, asking them to negotiate a series of cones while texting.

An average driver paying attention to the road can pass this trial with flying colours, but AAA proved beyond the shadow of a doubt that using a mobile phone to send a text message dramatically increases your chances of straying off course.

Do you know anyone who is easily distracted by his or her phone while driving? Are you?
