ABT's 2011 Audi R8 GT-R: Refined Power

By ,

Having a really good reputation in Europe, ABT Sportsline made a big splash at the 2010 SEMA show by introducing their 2011 Audi R8 GT-R. The beast's 5.2-litre engine now develops 620 horsepower instead of the factory 525, along with a top speed of 325 km/h with a 0-100 km/h acceleration in an astonishing 3.2 seconds.

In order for the car to survive all this power, the R8's suspension has been modified with fully adjustable dampers and new brake pads made out of ceramic were thrown in. A diet was also imposed to the German car, adding carbon fiber everywhere on the body and reducing the car's weight of 220 pounds. A polished stainless steel roll cage, 4-point seat belts, carbon fiber Recaro seats, fire extinguisher and an integral lap timer also got added to this work of art.

Only 25 of those cars will get sold to select clients, and if you're lucky enough to own one, you can have ABT to convert it for a little CDN$ 179,000 plus shipping to Germany and back.
