Initially scheduled to make a return to America at the end of 2012, Alfa Romeo will make customers wait until 2014 at the earliest.
According to the Wall Street Journal , Fiat's plans were delayed by the continuing economic crisis in Europe. The expansion of the Alfa Romeo brand into the U.S. is supposed to serve as a springboard for China and other emerging markets.
When Alfa does come to America, expect its showrooms (shared with Fiat vehicles) to feature a two-seat sports car and the Giulia premium sedan. Future models will use powertrains with technology from Maserati and Ferrari, also owned by Fiat.
