ALMS: Audi battle in Utah

A "new" Miller Motorsports Park awaits the American Le Mans Series this week for the Larry H. Miller Dealerships Utah Grand Prix presented by the Grand and Little America Hotels. The prototype field is expected to reach near-record speeds on the 3.048-mile, 15-turn outer circuit as the ALMS returns to a natural road course for the first time since mid-March.Only 3 prototype cars are entered in the fast P1 class, the two Audi R10s and the Lola-AER of Jon and Clint Field. The race will basically turn into a battle between the two R10s. Marco Werner and Lucas Luhr lead the standings with 66 points each, 33 points more than the Fields.
Gil de Ferran - Acura
There are nine P2 cars entered, the two Penske cars, the Andretti-Green Acura, the Fernandez car and the new Acura of Gil de Ferran -Simon Pagenaud. The P2 cars may give the Audis a hard time for the overall victory.The two Corvettes C6-R will battle it out fiercely  in the GT1 category while it will be a Porsche vs. Ferrari battle in the GT2 class. The Larry H. Miller Dealerships Utah Grand Prix presented by The Grand and Little America Hotels is set for Sunday, May 18 from Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah. The green flag is scheduled for 1 p.m. MT with live television coverage on SPEED. Live radio coverage will be available on XM Satellite Radio Channel 144 and American Le Mans.
