ALMS Sebring: Jon Field involved in terrifying testing crash at Sebring

Intersport Racing’s Jon Field was luckily not injured in a terrifying crash that happened Monday during testing for the upcoming 12 Hours of Sebring, opening round of the American Le Mans Series.

The Intersport AER-powered Lola B06/10 LMP1 race car got airborne and flipped several times between Turns 9 and 10 of the 3.7-mile, 17-turn Sebring International Raceway circuit.

The race car eventually came to a stop upright on its wheels. Prior to the crash, the Intersport Lola-AER had posted the fastest time of the afternoon session.

After being taken to the track's medical center, Field was transported to Highlands Regional Medical Center for further observation.

An uninjured Jon Field was released from the hospital Monday night, hours after the impact.
