Altima Hybrid: when fuel economy meets luxury and performance

By ,

There was a time not so long ago when eco-friendly vehicles and performance vehicles were two separate things. Today, some automakers offer high-performing, luxury hybrids that still qualify as being «green». One only has to look at the all-new Nissan Altima Hybrid to be fully convinced.
This weekend, from April 27-29, 2007, the City of Toronto plays host to the first edition of the "Green Living Show" at the Direct Energy Centre. This is the place for consumers to get a better understanding of the various benefits of the green revolution. They can learn from world-renowned lecturers, meet with industry experts and even test-drive the new Altima Hybrid.Available at Canadian Nissan dealerships since March 2007, the Altima Hybrid combines style, comfort and performance with high fuel economy and low emissions. The car's powertrain is comprised of a 2.5-litre, 4-cylinder gasoline engine and an electric motor. The Altima Hybrid can run solely on electric power, for instance in a gridlock. If more juice is required, the regular engine automatically steps into play. photo: Nissan
