AMA Superbike: Mladin Mauls Competition Twice at Road Atlanta!

By ,

Little ever really changes in AMA Superbike, as Mat Mladin and his Suzuki completed yet another perfect week-end of racing, this time at the AMA American Superbike races at Road Atlanta. After winning the pole in Friday's single-bike Superpole qualifying, Mladin led every lap in Saturday's 20-lap race, winning by more than 15sec, and did the same on Sunday, which is even more impressive as his team had repaired his No. 7 Suzuki GSX-R1000 after a low side incident during Sunday morning's warmup.  The best Superbike racing of the weekend took place for second place on Sunday between Mladin's teammate Blake Young and local rider Geoff May (Suzuki). The pair swapped second place several times before Young took the spot for good at the flag.  Next up for AMA Pro American Superbike another double-header at Barber Motorsports Park, May 1 - 3.
