New York State residents will now be able to purchase a Civic GX at five Honda dealers on Long Island and fourteen additional dealers throughout the state, marking the first time the car is available for retail sale outside of California.According to EPA tests, the city/highway fuel economy of the Civic GX is rated at 8.4 L/100 km and 6.0 L/100 km, respectively (28/39 mpg). federal tax credit when purchasing such a vehicle.The powertrain of the GX is comprised of a 1.8-liter, 4-cylinder engine mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission. Output is 113 horsepower and 109 lb-ft of torque. With near-zero emissions, the GX was proclaimed as the "Cleanest internal combustion engine ever tested" by the EPA when introduced in 1998, and today is the only vehicle certified by the EPA to meet both Federal Tier 2/Bin 2 and Inherently Low Emission Vehicle (ILEV) standards.
