Olivier Panis (Skoda) took the win in the first race of the season, in Isola 2000 . His teammate Jacques Villeneuve progressed again, and secured 8th place on Friday.
Panis was quickest in the qualifying rounds ahead of Dayraut (BMW) and Lagorce (Skoda). They completed the top-3 in the overall standing at the end of the day.
Jacques Villeneuve (Skoda) kept on learning the ice driving and, again, made good progresses. The Canadian driver finished 8th on Friday, and remains in 10th position in the provisional standing.
Alain Prost (Dacia Duster) still leads the championship.
