Andros Trophy: Olivier Panis takes win in first day in Alpe d'Huez

Olivier Panis (Skoda Fabia) clinched victory in first race of the meeting in Alpe d’Huez , third round of the Andros Trophy.

The former Formula 1 driver dominated qualifying rounds ahead of Franck Lagorce (Skoda Fabia) and Alain Prost (Dacia Duster). Then, Panis took the win in his final heat, which put him on top of the overall classification at the end of day one, ahead of Lagorce and Prost.

Jacques Villeneuve had quite a difficult day in Alpe d’Huez. The Canadian driver took only 22nd position in qualifying rounds, then took 6th and last position in his final heat. He hopes totake his revenge on day 2.

Alain Prost stays in front of overall championship classification ahead of Jean-Philippe Dayraut (BMW Serie 1) before day 2 in Alpe d’Huez.
