ARCA: Dakoda Armstrong wins Winchester race

By ,

Dakoda Armstrong, who last raced in the series on May 15 at Toledo, drove to his third career win in Saturday's ARCA race at Winchester Speedway.

Armstrong used key pit strategy to move into the lead with 10 laps to go to win the Winchester ARCA 200 presented by Federated Auto Parts.

Armstrong ran in the top-5 for most of the race and moved into position to win thanks to a key pit decision by veteran crew chief Paul Andrews.

Andrews opted for just tires and some fuel in the No. 22 Dodge on a Lap 170 pit stop that moved him in position for the win.

Chris Buescher, who had been making the Armstrong-Dillon battle a three-man fight, passed Ty Dillon to take second for the fourth time this season and third time in the last four races.

A five-car incident involving Maryeve Dufault, Richard Harriman, Young, Levi Youster, and Darrell Basham brought the field to the red flag at Lap 37. Dufault was classified 20th.

It was a fifth start this year for Armstrong at Cunningham Motorsports. He  will make his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series debut at Iowa Speedway for ThorSport Racing in three weeks.
