Aston Martin: 100 years is cause for celebration in Geneva

By ,

Aston Martin has now been around for 100 years, and the company decided to celebrate this milestone at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show by introducing the Aston Martin Rapide S as well as Centenary Edition models.

Hailed as “the world’s most beautiful, and beautifully balanced, four-seat sports car” by Aston Martin, the Rapide S boasts a new 6.0L V12 engine that generates 550 horsepower -- a 17% gain over the outgoing model. It sprints from 0-100 km/h in 4.9 seconds, and reaches a top speed in excess of 305 km/h.

Meanwhile, the Centenary Edition versions of the Aston Martin Vantage, Vanquish, DB9, and Rapide S will be limited to 100 units worldwide. They feature a unique graduated paint finish, along with solid sterling silver Aston Martin wings badges with tailored “trans flux” enamel inlay.

Each Centenary Edition model will also be supplied with a unique presentation box containing, among other items, two glass keys, solid silver cufflinks featuring the Aston Martin script, a solid silver Rollerball pen, and high-quality Bang & Olufsen headphones.
