Atlantic: Junior Strous wins in Mont-Tremblant

Junior Strous, of the Condor Motorsports team, has won his first race ever in the Formula Atlantic series at Circuit Mont-Tremblant, north of Montreal.Strous had, for the better part of the weekend, dominated the timesheets in free practices and in the first qualification. Canadian Kevin Lacroix was the other pole sitter.Markus Niemela of Brooks Associates was second while Pacific Coast Motorsports Carl Skerlong was third.Canadians James Hinchcliffe of Forsythe-Pettit Racing and Kevin Lacroix in the Walker Racing car finished respectively 5th and 6th. Lacroix had a bad start losing two positions. As he tried to regain some momentum by passing another driver he damaged the nose of his car and had to go back into the pits, ruining his race.In the championship, Strous is now in the lead, having replace Hinchcliffe in the top spot. Markus Niemela is now third. Next two races will be held in Edmonton on July 25th.
