Audi presents new models and powertrains at Montreal

Audi displayed several upcoming models and powertrains today at the Montreal Auto Show- including the highly anticipated Q5 crossover and updated 2009 A6.
2009 Audi Q5
The Q5 takes a place under the Q7 in the brand's SUV lineup and is set to go on sale early this year. It hits our market with a 3.2 liter, direct-injected V6, Quattro all wheel drive, and a six-speed automatic with Tiptronic. Apparently, Audi's saving the diesel engine and S-Tronic gearbox for the Europeans.Q5 will also boast Generation 3 MMI and navigation with real-time traffic information. Competition will be mainly with the likes of BMW's X3 and the new Mercedes GLK.
2009 Audi Q7
Also joining the Audi SUV lineup is a 3.0 liter TDI diesel engine which will find its way into the Q7. The engine, which is also being used by Porsche in the upcoming Cayenne Diesel , delivers low emissions, great mileage and over 400 lb.-ft of torque. Market launch is set for early 2009.Audi sedan enthusiasts crowded the 2009 A6- which hit the stage with updated styling and several new features and trim levels.

"The A6 model range gains a far more progressive look with this makeover," said Johan de Nysschen, executive VP of Audi of America. "Of particular note is the addition of the new supercharged drivetrain that will give drivers of these cars plenty of responsive power without sacrificing fuel efficiency. These updates will show why the Audi A6 is the best-selling luxury sedan worldwide."Shoppers after the 2009 A6 will be able to choose from a 3.2 liter V6 with 255 horsepower, a 3.0 liter supercharged V6 with 300 horsepower or a 4.2 liter V8 with 350 ponies.
