Audi unveils the new A6

By ,

The time has come for Audi to present the next generation of its luxury sedan, the A6 . The manufacturer had to revamp the model in order to remain competitive in today's increasingly fierce market. Design updates, a new S line package and an impressive selection of engines are on the agenda.
Design-wise, the A6 has inherited LED headlights, now featured on most of the German manufacturer's vehicles. The front section has actually been completely redesigned, and the sedan looks a lot younger. Around back, the engineers added a spoiler on the trunk and integrated LED taillights as well as new exhaust pipes. The body now sports chrome trim. To dress it all up, Audi offers a selection of 13 colours, 5 of which are new. Inside, the new MMI multimedia system features a bunch of improvements. S line package Audi now offers its S line package on the A6. The package includes 18-inch alloy wheels, a 30-mm lowered sport suspension, sport seats and a black passenger compartment. New engines A total of 10 engines can power the new A6, 6 gas versions and 4 diesel ones. The smallest of the family is a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbo engine producing 170 hp. On the opposite end of the spectrum is a 4.2-litre V8 packing 350 hp. A 3.0-litre, gas-powered V6 will also be introduced, replacing the 3.2-litre version currently found on several Audis. These are the features of the European A6. It should be reasonably similar in Canada, but we can expect a highly reduced selection of engines, per the German manufacturer's habits. photo: Volkswagen
