Back to the future: DeLorean gets 2013 reboot

By ,

Great Scot! What sounded like a delayed April Fool's joke became a reality when DMC announced that the iconic DeLorean isn't dead. Apparently, it found a hole in the space-time continuum that leads to the year 2013.

The star of the Back to the Future trilogy will now receive a fully-electric powertrain thanks to electric car startup Epic EV.

Performance will double, as early reports suggest a maximum speed of 125 mph (201 km/h) and output in the range of 260 horsepower.

Details remain scarce for now, but the electric DeLorean is expected to go on sale in the U.S. for anywhere between $90,000 and $100,000.
