Here’s a model we’ll definitely be adding to our Guide to convertibles next summer. BMW has just announced the 2018 launch of a roadster version of the i8. A first concept saw the light of day more than five years ago, but it appears that this time the move to a production model is a certainty.
This is great news for fans of the German model and its radical design and race-oriented performance capabilities, who will now have the option of enjoying it with an open top. And as the sporty new roadster will be a plug-in hybrid, those exhilarating moments will come unaccompanied by noise or polluting emissions.
