Young sensation Kyle Busch finally gave Toyota its first ever win in NASCAR's most important series, the Sprint Cup. Though he brushed the wall at mid-race, Busch kept driving his No 18 Camry and finally took advantage of Carl Edwards' mechanical problems (Ford No 99) to regain the lead at the Atlanta Motor Speedway and win the Cobalt Tool 500. Teammate Tony Stewart (Camry No 20) ended up second followed by Dale Earnhardt (Chevy No 88) and Fenway-Roush driver Greg Biffle (Ford No 16). Jeff Gordon (Chevy no 24), was fifth. Quebec driver Patrick Carpentier ended up 38th, five laps down.
