Canadian NASCAR: Andrew Ranger wins at ICAR

Two-time NASCAR Canadian Tire Series champion Andrew Ranger was able to hold on to the lead in the final moments of the race to pick up his first win of the season at the ICAR Lucas Oil Grand Prix Sunday at Circuit ICAR.

Ranger, who had started way back, took the lead in his No. 27 Dodge/GC Motorsports Dodge from D.J. Kennington on Lap 7 and remained out front the rest of the way to pick up his 17th career win in the series.

JR Fitzpatrick ended-up second while series current champion Scott Steckly rebounded from an earlier penalty for rough driving to finish third.

LP Dumoulin was fourth and Kennington completed the top five.

The NASCAR Canadian Tire Series takes on an oval track for the first time in 2012 in its next outing on Saturday, June 16 on the Speedway at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.
