car2go: After Toronto and Vancouver, Montreal Gets its New smarts Mercedes-Benz CLA models on the way, too

By ,

Having recently passed the 2.2 million mark for memberships around the globe, car-sharing company car2go introduced new models into its fleets in Toronto and Vancouver this past February. Now it’s Montreal’s turn to see next-generation smart cars added to the company’s operating fleet there.

Since March 20, car2go’s fleet of over 450 vehicles in Montreal has been upgraded with the addition of next-generation smart fortwo cars. Other Daimler models, namely Mercedes-Benz CLA sedans and GLA crossovers , will be introduced later this year.

The move comes in response to growing demand for car2go’s services in the city, where the number of memberships in the company’s car-sharing service has jumped by 43% over the previous year.

The new edition of the smart fortwo offers an improved driving experience, notably when it comes to interior space, comfort and amenities (heated seats, Bluetooth connectivity, etc.), as well as a more powerful turbo engine wedded to a new 6-speed twinmatic, dual-clutch transmission. Users will also be glad to find more space in the trunk for their cargo, and even that they can unlock and access the car more quickly than before!
