Mercedes- AMG GT R
When Mercedes unveiled the GT model as a replacement for the SLS, most consumers understood that the model the GT was taking aim at was the legendary Porsche 911. This new entry did not lack for tools in its arsenal to take on the fight, this despite a look that was not unanimously acclaimed upon its launch. All the same, the German manufacturer remained true to its longstanding tradition of developing super-powered versions of its models, even when their performance capacities were already sky-high.
And so, for 2017, we get an R version of the GT. This time around, the company spared no effort or expense in creating a super car. This meant coming up with an even more muscular version of the 4.0L V8 used for other GT models; the new model is fitted with a 577 HP engine that can take the car from 0-100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds. The rear-mounted transmission is a 7-speed dual-clutch box, with the gears closer together than in other versions. Get a look at this vehicle in its bold green finish, and you’ll know you’re dealing with a car that is exceptional in every way.
