Chevrolet to unveil a new concept, the Orlando

General Motors announced this morning that it will be presenting a new concept car at the 2008 Mondial de l'Automobile de Paris ; the seven-passenger crossover has been dubbed Chevrolet Orlando.
In creating the Orlando, Chevrolet wanted to produce a vehicle combining the versatility of an SUV, a minivan and a van. The Orlando will be integrating a new market segment already populated by the Mazda5 and the Kia Rondo . With its 2,760 mm, the Orlando's wheelbase is the longest of the bunch.The Orlando was designed on the Chevrolet Cruze 's platform, a compact sedan recently introduced by the American manufacturer. It's powered by a 4-cylinder turbo engine producing 150 hp and 236 lb-ft of torque. GM hasn't released any details concerning the future commercialization of this vehicle. photo: General Motors
