CES 2017: The Fully Electric Chrysler Portal Concept Debuts

By ,

The new Chrysler Portal concept has been introduced at the current Consumer Electronics Show (CES) taking place in Las Vegas. The fully electric vehicle features a host of technologies designed to meet the needs and wants of Millennials, those Generation Y consumers born between 1982 and 2001.

Featuring a fully electric engine fed by a lithium-ion battery, the Portal has a range of around 400 km (250 miles) and can be recharged to gain a range of 240 km in just 20 minutes. The spacious and ultra-modern interior offers vocal AND facial recognition technology for each occupant, which allows the car to store seat-position, lighting and music preferences for each person. A few assisted-driving technologies are also included.

While the Portal remains just a concept, several of the technologies it features could find their way into production vehicles in the near-future. Videos posted online by the manufacturer provide more details on the many new advances included in this concept car. Happy viewing!
