According to WorkingMother Magazine, the annual listing is designed to recognize companies that have worklife initiatives, child care assistance programs and efforts to promote and advance women in the workplace.

"For many years, our company and the UAW have advocated the importance of balance in work and family life," said Nancy Rae, Chrysler Group Senior Vice President Human Resources. "Work family programs and initiatives are important elements in maintaining a world-class workforce."

"The UAW shares DaimlerChrysler's commitment to helping employees juggle family responsibilities with demands of the workplace," said UAW Vice President Nate Gooden, Director of the union's DaimlerChrysler Department.
