With a striking exterior design, the Karma sedan features the Q Drive plug-in hybrid technology, developed by Quantum Technologies exclusively for Fisker, that allows the car to drive emission-free for up to 50 miles (80 km) a day.The driver is able to select between two driving modes: Stealth Drive, which is a quiet economy mode that maximizes efficient driving, and Sport Drive, that unleashes full power. The two modes are controlled via wheel-mounted paddles.
Fisker claims dramatic acceleration times all the way to its maximum speed: 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) is attained in less than 6 seconds, and the Karma can hit over 200 km/h.As with most hybrids, regenerative braking recaptures energy and lightweight materials are used for reduced weight and improved driving dynamics.The Karma also features 22-inch alloy wheels, LED taillamps, seats for 4 passengers, a spacious trunk and a navigation system. The first models for sale will cost US$80,000 and should be available in the 4th quarter of 2009.
