After teasing fans and the media with a promotional video of their upcoming Veloster just before Christmas, Hyundai is striking back ahead of the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit.
This time, we get the confirmation that the coupe will offer a third door (similar to the Nissan Juke) in addition to a conventional liftgate.
The Veloster is expected to feature a 1.6-litre, 4-cylinder engine with direct gasoline injection as well as 1.6- and 2.0-litre turbocharged variants for superior performance. A dual-clutch transmission should be available and Hyundai promises fuel economy of 40 mpg (5.88 L/100 km) for the standard powerplant.
The official debut is scheduled for January 10. Don't miss our special section dedicated to the NAIAS for live coverage and complete specs.
