The new 2012 BMW M3 DTM Concept Car was unveiled yesterday, in Munich. It will be on display all weekend long as part of the Olympic Stadium event.
Dr. Klaus Draeger, member of the Board of Management of BMW AG and responsible for development, and BMW Motorsport Director Jens Marquardt presented the car in the Double Cone building at Munich’s BMW Welt.
BMW also announced two of the drivers that will wear its colors next year, after two decades of absence: Andy Priaulx and Augusto Farfus. They will help the brand in its testing phase as well.
Priaulx has won the 2004 European Touring Car Championship with BMW and three World Championships titles between 2005 and 2007.
"The BMW M3 DTM looks fantastic. I can hardly wait to get to know the car better in the coming tests, to contribute to its development, and ultimately to sit in the cockpit for the first DTM race in 2012," Priaulx said.
The British driver also won the 24 Hours of Nürburgring in 2005 and the GT class victory in the 2011 12 Hours of Sebring.
His Brazilian teammate Farfus also counts 15 victories for BMW in the World Touring Car Championship and a triumph at the Nürburgring 24 Hours last year.
