David Coulthard take part to the collective tests in Valencia, driving a Mercedes C Class.
The Scot looks closer to a Mercedes deal in DTM, despite the difficulties due to the relationship between his mainsponsor Red Bull and Mercedes, that is newly backed by energy drink rival Monster.
Coulthard set a great performance on Wednesday morning, when he set the 4th best performance : he was the quickest of the « old cars », and even the best Mercedes cars.
Mercedes also runs Cong Fu-Chen, who could be the first chinese driver to take part to the DTM championship this year.
Meanwhile, Gary Paffett and Paul Di Resta are set to miss those collective test, due to their Formula 1 duties, as third drivers for McLaren and Force India respectively. But both had the opportunity to run in Valencia last week.
