Gary Paffett (C Class Mercedes Coupe) set the best performance on the first of the four days of collective tests in Hockenheim.
The Brit, who set his best lap in 1’33’’284, was quickest ahead of Mike Rockenfeller’s Audi A5 Coupe, who was 0,147 seconds slower than the Mercedes driver. The Audi performed well, as the german team stands from 2nd to 5th position at the end of the day.
Martin Tomczyk’s BMW M3 Coupe was 8th, and best BMW driver. Eleven cars took part to this first day of testing.
Canadian Robert Wickens (C Class Mercedes Coupe), who will make his DTM debuts this year, was sixth. Bruno Spengler (BMW M3 Coupe), from Québec, will be on track on Wednesday and Thursday, although bad weather conditions are forecasted.
