DTM: Mike Rockenfeller quickest on Wednesday

Audi driver Mike Rockenfeller emerged fastest in the third day of pre-season collective tests of the DTM series in Hockenheim.

The German driver clocked his best lap in 1m33.027 to beat Christian Vietoris’ C Class Mercedes Coupe, who was just 0.146 second slower. Rookie driver Adrian Tambay was third quickest in his Audi A5 Coupe.

Canadian driver Bruno Spengler hit the track for the first time of the week yesterday, and was the quickest of the BMW runners.

Spengler stood in second place for a while, and finished the day in fifth place behind his former teammate Jamie Green (Mercedes), but ahead of Andy Priaulx (BMW).

Spengler is back behind the wheel today Thursday, for the fourth and last day of collective tests.
