DTM: Only one free practice session in 2013

DTM organizers announced new time table for the 2013 events, including the cancellation of Friday’s free practice sesssion.

The drivers and teams will have now only one practice session of 90 minutes to find their marks and prepare for the qualifying on the afternoon, which will now begin one hour later (2:40 PM local time). The Friday will be reserved for the DTM support series, suc as the European F3 championship, the Porsche Carrera Cup and the Volkswagen Scirocco-R Cup.

The new time schedule will also feature a race start at 1.30 PM (instead of 2.00 PM the previous year). The ITR, DTM organizers explained those changes by the will to make the serie "even more surprising and thus also more thrilling, both for the fans at the race tracks and at home in front of the televisions screens".

Friday’s free practice session has been already cancelled four years ago, before it has been back the following year.

2013 DTM opening round will be presented in Hockenheim on May 5th.
