Truck manufacturers are creating pickup trucks! In Quebec, trucks are indispensable. Dealers and customers alike are anxious to see the new offerings at least once a year. ExpoCam is held alternatively in Montreal and Quebec City. In 2007, from April 12-14, Place Bonaventure was host to an interesting selection of models for fleet managers, truckers and even amateurs. I say this because we are somewhat witnessing a fusion of styles: pickup truck manufacturers are evolving toward regular trucks, while truck manufacturers are developing more and more pickup trucks and utility vehicles. For one, Sterling unveiled in Canadian premiere its all-new Class 4-5 pickup, the Bullet. Actually, it's a full-size pickup truck motivated by a 450-hp 6.7L Cummins engine. Clearly, the Bullet does not lack power. With this new model in its lineup, Sterling now offers a product in every single truck class, from 3 to 8.

If you think the Bullet looks strangely similar to the Dodge Ram, you are right. Sterling is also part of the DaimlerChrysler family... until a possible shake-up happens. Except for a few trim details, both companies will sell the same vehicle that they developed together. Incidentally, Dodge showcased in Montreal its all-new Ram 3500, which Chrysler has been announcing for years. This Class 3 pickup will be exclusive to Dodge who, like Sterling, will also offer Class 4-5 trucks beginning next fall.Sterling dealers will recommend the Bullet to construction entrepreneurs, residential services technicians, landscape gardeners and city fleet managers, among others. As is the case with all Sterling trucks, the Bullet can be modified to suit several precise needs, like installing a snowplow.
