Veteran Formula 1 driver, Brazilian Rubens Barrichello took the Williams FW33-Cosworth to the top of the timesheets on the final day of this week's Jerez de la Frontera test.

Barrichello set the fastest lap of the week with a 1:19.832. His best time came on the last of a series of eight-lap runs that he embarked on early in the day.

The weather was fine and it was not until the very last minutes of the day that a rain shower hit the track, which meant the wet weather tires could be used for the very first time.

Japanese driver Kamui Kobayashi set the second fastest time of the day in the Ferrari-powered Sauber C30.

The team had to stop early because of a power train related problem. At 11am, Kobayashi did one single run on super soft tires, and then worked again on the car’s set-up on harder tires.

After lunch, the Swiss team did long runs with medium and hard tires, the longest distance being 18 laps. The Japanese also had an off today and got stuck in gravel, but without damaging the car.

Local heroe Fernando Alonso worked on a comparison of various set-up options to suit the Pirelli tires to the Ferrari 150th Italia. The new was able to run pretty much constantly, covering more than 100 laps today.

Sebastien Buemi was fourth in the Ferrari-powerd Toro Rosso ahead of Bruno Senna in who was driving the Lotus Renault R31 for the first time.
