F1: Gerhard Berger tells Raikkonen to stay off vodka

The former F1 driver is kind of perplexed with Raikkonen's comeback in the category.

After two years in rally, the 2007 world champion has signed a two-year contract with Lotus, starting in 2012.

Kimi Raikkonen claims he had not lost his motivation nor his speed and that his passion remains intact.

Gerhard Berger says on the Austrian ORF TV channel: "Kimi is someone nice, a rare bird who brings with him a lot of colour to Formula 1. His return is positive. Is he capable of reaching the top again? I would say 50/50. To achieve this, he may need to lift his foot off the vodka and impose better self discipline."

“I would be surprised if he had the strength, ambition and discipline needed to return to where he was before his departure. That said, do not underestimate him as he is a very fast driver and I hope he will succeed with his comeback,” added the Austrian.
