F1: HRT meets with Javier Villa, Daniel Ricciardo thrilled with debut

By ,

While Daniel Ricciardo is getting ready to replace Narain Karthikeyan for the rest of the season at Hispania Racing Team, Javier Villa has refused to deny speculation linking him with a race seat at the team.

Ricciardo was allowed by Toro Rosso, team for which he was the reserve driver this year, to complete this season with HRT as new team management gets settled in.

The young driver, who admittedly aims firstly at completing his races, is obviously very excited ahead of his first Formula 1 Grand Prix.

"It means a lot to me. I'm sure, as many of us here, we dream it as kids but don't really believe that one day it will actually happen! It will be a very special moment for me, perhaps a little emotional too," said Ricciardo inĀ Silverstone.

Meanwhile sports daily AS reports that the "first contact" between the HRT team -- with new management promising an increasingly Spanish team -- and World Touring Car driver Javier Villa took place this week in Madrid.

"I'd love to be the first Spanish driver with Hispania. F1 is F1 and it's obvious every driver wants to go there. I want to see how the project is consolidated, but I am sure it will be serious and strong," Villa said despite denying the meeting.
