Tony Fernandes’ Team Lotus has officially launched the new car for the 2011 FIA World Championship, the T128 in the pit lane of the Ricardo Tormo permanent circuit of Valencia.
The Malaysian team based in Hingham, UK ran the new car on Wednesday with Heikki Kovalainen behind the wheel.
The T128 is powered by a Renault V8 engine and is fitted with a Red Bull transmission.
The team’s Technical Director, Mike Gascoyne said that the T128 should represent a major step forward from last year’s, Cosworth-powered T127.
