F1: Lola, the comeback?

By ,

Lola boss Robin Brundle reckons his company, which pulled out of F1 in 1997, could stage a comeback in 2014, according to Autohebdo .

“We're ready and waiting,” Brundle said.

Lola would only be missing a engine deal, and the rights to enter Formula 1. Current regulations limit the grid to 12 teams.

The idea of a Lola comeback was first heard when USF1 left the spot they were granted in 2010 vacant, for money reasons.

Brundle is confident the financial aspect of F1 won't be a problem if he is to re-enter the sport.

Lola's current motorsports involvement includes mainly endurance racing, in LMP1 and LMP2 categories.
