F1: Scuderia Ferrari announces extension of Marlboro deal

By ,

The Scuderia Ferrari has announced on Tuesday the extension of its agreement with Philip Morris International until the end of the 2015 Formula 1 season.

The current contract that promoted the Marlboro brand was ending at the end of this year.

Last year, the Italian team from Maranello removed the infamous “barcode” from its F1 cars after a European medical commission declared that it was subliminal advertising for Marlboro according to them.

However, the official name of the team in Formula 1 is still "Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro". Ferrari is the only team in F1 that is still sponsored by a tobacco company.
