Axed Toro Rosso Formula 1 racer Sébastien Bourdais will not issue legal proceedings against the Red Bull-owned team.

The Frenchman's manager, Nicolas Todt, told the sports daily L'Équipe that an amicable agreement was reached with Faenza based Toro Rosso shortly after his final race in Germany.

Four days after the Nurburgring race, when Toro Rosso said Jaime Alguersuari would replace the 30-year-old Frenchman, Bourdais announced that he has "instructed my lawyers to review the situation including the possibility of issuing legal proceedings".

Todt however revealed: "One week after the German grand prix, we reached an out-of-court settlement with the team. They knew it (Bourdais' ousting) would not stand up in court."

Although Bourdais said he remained "strongly committed to my formula one project" in the wake of his Toro Rosso sacking, it is rumoured his next move might be back to America, and the IndyCar series.
