In this video, German driver Nico Rosberg explains the steering wheel of his 2011 Mercedes Formula 1 car .

Rosberg and seven-time World Champion Michael Schumacher this year drive the Mercedes W02 F1 car in the World Championship.

Rosberg explain how the switches, dials and knobs control the running of the engine, the gearbox and the handling of the car.

Each steering wheel is fully hand-made out of carbon fibre, aluminium, titanium, magnesium, steel, plastic and tiny electronic components.

A complete steering wheel can take approximately 100 hours to produce from start to finish for a price tag of $50,000 and a weight of just 1300 grams!
