F1: Video that explains the exhausts exit effects on tires

By ,

Pirelli, the official supplier of tires in Formula 1, has produced this video that explains how exhausts exit influence the aerodynamics of the F1 car.

The hot gases that exit the exhausts are used to generate additional downforce.

By blowing these gases underneath the sidepods or directly beside the diffusor, the floor is able to generate additional downforce, resulting to higher speeds in the corners.

However, these solutions put an intense thermal stress on the tires.
